Fall is in full bloom – the weather has cooled off, but not so cold that it’s impossible to enjoy the outdoors still. There are few experiences more magical in the Magic City than taking in Birmingham from a rooftop bar. Here are a few of About Town’s favorites around our city.

The Roof at The Redmont

Perched atop The Redmont downtown is The Roof, with remarkable views of Birmingham’s skyline. It offers a sophisticated feel with outdoor seating, signature cocktails, and friendly and knowledgeable bartenders who will make sure they make your drink just like you like it. Plus, The Roof is open seven days a week.

Moon Shine at the Elyton

Seventeen floors up is Moon Shine, the rooftop bar of the Elyton Hotel downtown. At Moon Shine, you’ll find a full bar plus signature cocktails, craft beers, and a wine list – and its sharable menu items are made from scratch daily. Plus, you can’t beat the views.

Habitat Feed and Social at the Grand Bohemian

With colorful décor that’s impossible to miss, we’ve probably all seen our friends’ Instagram photos at Habitat Feed and Social, which sits atop the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook. In addition to its expansive drink menu, Habitat’s food is fantastic – its farm-to-table! – and the ambiance is second to none. It also offers cooking classes and wine tastings.

The Terrace Bar at the Valley Hotel

If you’re looking for a rooftop bar in Homewood, try The Terrace Bar at the Valley Hotel, which serves up craft cocktails and local brews as you overlook downtown Homewood. Fire pits and terrace seating make the experience one to remember.

Carrigan’s Public House

One of Birmingham’s favorite hangouts is also home to a rooftop bar. Located downtown on historic Morris Avenue, you can take in the views as you sip from Carrigan’s cocktail menu and eat some really, really good grub. Plus, we guarantee you’ll see a friend or two while you’re there.

The Southern Birmingham

Drive over to the Uptown District and enjoy the views from the rooftop of The Southern Birmingham, which offers a deep drink menu and a deep food menu. The casually chic atmosphere is sophisticated yet comfortable; you’ll fall in love with the Southern-inspired menu.
