November has arrived in Alabama, and the weather during this first week is still the perfect coolness to enjoy a few great events around the Magic City. Birmingham event organizers did their part to bring the entertainment - with all-time city favorite events lining up alongside an impressive slate of incoming shows. Here are a few things we recommend checking out.

Día de Los Muertos is towards the top of the most meaningful holidays celebrated by humanity. It’s a time to remember our loved ones who have left this Earth with beautiful altars that include some of the memories and items that made our beloved so special. The Birmingham celebration is entering its 20th year. In addition to multitudes of magnificent tributes, there is ample art and great food to enjoy at this event on Wednesday that takes place at Sloss Furnaces

Hannah Ali Burx has made it her mission to bring bellydance and the confidence to take up space to the Birmingham community. The World of Bellydance is one of her most fun methods of doing so. The next class, which centers around Middle Eastern Music Rhythms and Movements, will take place at The Dance Foundation this Thursday from 2 to 5pm.

He’s bringing his talents back to the Magic City during his Rush Hour Tour with Saka. The concert, which takes place Friday night at Zydeco, was named one of our most highly anticipated fall shows for a reason - so get out and enjoy it!

Some of the most era-defining artists from the earlier 2000s are coming together to bring hit after hit to The Legacy Arena at The BJCC this Friday. Singers and hip-hop musicians take the spotlight with massive names like Keri Hilson, Mario, Bow Wow, Lloyd, Pleasure P, Bobby V, Sammie, Dem Franchize Boyz, Travis Porter, Lil Scrappy, Crime Mob, and Trillville. As someone who still loves and plays weekly the “Oh I Think They Like Me” remix by DFB featuring Bow Wow - I am awfully excited for the city to be hosting this event.

Zydeco brings another great concert experience on Saturday night as funk masters Big Something and Funk You come to the upstairs venue to bring good times and great tunes to the people of Birmingham. This is a fantastically fun option for those looking to get a little dancing in this weekend.
