The fourth season of the always fantastic Magic City Fashion Week is here, and it’s promising to expand on all the things that have made us love the city’s premier fashion experience in year’s past. Founder Daniel Grier, Keicia Shanta, Tony Sinclair, and an incredible team full of Birmingham’s best stylists, bloggers, event planners, fundraisers, and community figures have come together to give us SZN IV: The World Is Watching. MCFW has already been welcomed by the Birmingham City Council and hosted their first night at the Birmingham Museum of Art The fashion festival has another great evening at the museum in store for Friday night, as well as an Emerging Designers Pop Up at The Pizitz on Saturday and a closing celebration at PrideFest on Sunday.

Friday’s festivities take place from 5 to 9pm, and attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite monochromatic outfits. The night begins with a cocktail hour and community art activities, however leisure time is soon replaced with fierce fashion walks displaying some of the finest garments found in the country. Celebrity stylist Ty Hunter is hosting the evening, which features this year’s Emerging Designers along with SZN 1 winner Kenya B. and SZN 2 winner Caléchie. There will also be musical performances and a showing by Grier’s celebrity-worn brand with a message, Splashed By DKG.

Saturday from noon to 4pm is “The Gallery at The Pizitz”, which gives Birminghamians an opportunity to support many local designers and creators in one location. Splashed By DKG, the previous season’s winners, and the wonderful folks at Bib and Tucker Sew-Op join emerging fashion brands led by Aaliyah Taylor, Darryl Peoples, James O. White, Julie Maeseele, Pyper, and Rachel Reilly. Later on in the evening, MCFW will be joining the Pride Parade in Lakeview which is always a fun and powerful celebration of love.

The fun fashion weekend continues Sunday at Linn Park as Magic City Fashion Week takes part in the 2022 edition of PrideFest, which will also serve as the fest’s closing ceremony after a victorious weekend. “The World Is Watching” feels like a very fitting description for this one-of-a-kind event in the city of Birmingham. Here’s to SZN IV, the best season yet!
