  • 2 oz Kahlua
  • 2 oz cream

Directions:

When you need a spooky comedy for Halloween, who ya gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS! Sorry we couldn't help ourselves. But seriously, if you can't stomach horror movies and family classics are not your style, we got you covered. Enjoy one of the most iconic comedies of all time.

Pair the perfect drink and treat combo with the film...nougat is to marshmallow as green grasshopper is to slime! That sweet marshmallow-y center of a Three Musketeers some hate and others love. Enter Grasshopper. This drink tastes like melted mint chocolate chip ice-cream in a glass. The rich and deep mint flavor allows the Musketeers to play the role it was meant to as the light and fluffy offset to a strong counterpart. • 1 oz creme de cacao
  • 1/2 oz cream

Who hasn't either worn the Ghostface mask or been pranked by a kid wearing one during Halloween at least once? Well, now it's time to revisit the movie that started it all. Scream is pretty much a classic horror film from Wes Craven, so make some popcorn, your cocktail, grab some candy, and get ready for some spooky moments.

Why not pair a classic with a classic? There's nothing more old-fashioned than a Snickers for Halloween. An American classic meets two more American classics combining the caramel nuttiness of the Snickers with the sweet corn and oak from the bourbon. Savory, strong, and scary!

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons simple syrup (brown sugar suggested)
  • 3 dashes bitters (Angostura is great)
  • 2 oz mid-range bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1 to 2 maraschino cherries optional

Directions:

  1. Place simple syrup, bitters, and whiskey in an old-fashioned glass
  2. Stir well
  3. Ass 1 to 2 large ice cubes
  4. Stir to chill

  • 4 dashes bitters
  • champagne
  • Luxardo cherries garnish optional

  3. Add an optional cherry

4.Friday the 13th (1980) + Kit Kat + Orange Well Rested

Image via Shipt

Wear your hockey masks and revisit one of the most iconic slasher movies of all time. Another horror legend, Jason Voorhees, is here to murder your sleeping schedule for yet another Halloween night.

Another intense drink and candy pair for an intense movie. This drink is sweet but packs a punch and is nicely offset by the starchy chocolate covered wafers of the Kit Kat. Like two dancers who are both the lead but never seem to be out of step, this drink and candy duo are sure to surprise and a delight. You definitely won't be Orange Well Rested after this movie/drink/treat combo!

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts reposado tequila
  • 1 part orange liqueur
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients in an old-fashioned glass and stir
  2. Top with club soda
  3. Garnish with a lemon wedge

3.The Exorcist (1973) + Sour Patch Kids + Pimm's Cup

This iconic horror movie needs to be on every single Halloween watchlist. It might not specifically be about Halloween, but it's definitely a horror classic with plenty of scares to make you hide behind your pillow. FYI, this film was also the first horror movie to be nominated for an Academy Award and has been called the scariest movie of all time, causing audiences to become physically ill. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Let's pair an intense drink to go with the intense movie you're going to watch. This is a cocktail that's different from any other, which is exactly why you're going to be blown away by its peculiar flavor!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/4 (2 pz) Pimm's No. 1
  • 6 tablespoons (3 oz) ginger beer or ginger ale
  • 1 cucumber slice
  • 1 spring fresh ming (5-6 leaves)

Directions:

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice
  2. Add Pimm's
  3. Top with ginger beer
  4. Garnish with a cucumber slice, a mint sprig, and serve

2.Trick 'r Treat (2007) + Crunch Bar + Cinnamon Apple Ale

Image via Shipt

A more modern horror movie than the others on this list, Trick r' Treat has become an instant favorite for horror movie and Halloween lovers. This movie definitely deserves a spot on your watchlist this Halloween.

Why not pair a hot new horror movie with a hot new beer-cocktail? The Cinnamon Apple is a must try if you haven't (just like this new horror film). It is sweet with a touch of cinnamon and tastes like fall in a bottle. The starchy crunch of the Crunch bar is a nice offset to the cinnamon sweetness of the drink making a perfect balance.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Fireball
  • 1 Red's Apple Ale

Directions:

  1. Drink the neck out of the Red's Apple Ale
  2. Pour in the fireball shot

1.Last but certainly not least: Halloween (1978) + Baby Ruth + Zaya Rum & Coke

Image via Shipt

We know you probably saw this coming, but this list would be nothing without Halloween at No. 1. This slasher film by John Carpenter gave us another creepy mask to run away from, along with another iconic and nightmarish killer. You can devour the entire franchise — starting from the original, of course. Have fun!

While falling down the Michael Myers rabbit hole, hold an incredible cocktail that's probably going to be your new guilty pleasure. Who can blame you? Not all rum and Coke's are the same, and Zaya Rum has its subtle spice and wood flavors from the barrel aging that balance perfectly with the caramel and peanuts of the Baby Ruth. Try this pairing and you'll be asking who ate your Baby Ruth and drank your rum & Coke before you realize it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Zaya Rum
  • Coke
  • Lime wedge

Directions:

  1. Fill a Collins glass with ice
  2. Pour in the rum and top with coke
  3. Garnish with optional lime

Be safe this Halloween and enjoy these tasty pairings with a much needed movie binge!
