Cook Out, for those new to this amazing establishment, has been around for 28 years with the famous saying: "WELCOME TO COOK OUT, MAY I TAKE YOUR ORDER PLEASE?"
Their first opening was in 1989 in Greensboro, NC. In 1999, they established Cook Out meat commissary. This means that all their meat is ground and pattied, loaded on a truck, delivered to each individual store, and cooked fresh every. single. day. This is where they found their motto: "Always Fresh, Never Frozen".
Not until 2016 did they move into Alabama with their first state store in Tuscaloosa. But only two years later they would open their 250th location in Mobile. Now they've opened a SECOND location in Birmingham and we couldn't be more excited!
Cook Out has a variety of menu items, all consisting of good, greasy, delicious late-night happy food. Some of this consists of hamburgers, barbecue, chicken, sandwiches, quesadillas, and don't forget about the sides! Of course, though, Cook Out is known for their long list of creamy shakes. So the next time you're in Southside take a quick stop by Cook Out and see for yourself what all the hype is about!
